Letters and Visitors
for Muriel Smith


Muriel Struthers Smith, Wilfred Cantwell Smith's wife of more than sixty years, is currently a resident of Toronto Grace Hospital. She is not normally able to answer the phone, unless someone is with her. However, visitors are very welcome -- an important source of support and friendship. She is suffering from memory loss, but is keen to maintain old friendships. Please keep in mind that she tires quickly and finds it easiest to deal with one or two people at a time.
Address: Grace Hospital, 650 Church Street (southwest corner of Bloor and Church), Room 346.
Subway: From Bloor/Yonge subway station, walk two blocks east on Bloor.
Car: Parking is available in the hospital lot, immediately off Bloor.
(There is a reduced rate for hospital visitors.)
Visiting Hours: 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
(An especially good time for visits is from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.)

Anyone interested in visiting Muriel on a more regular basis is encouraged to contact Ann Cooper of the the Bloor Street United Church pastoral care committee at (416) 924-7439. This committee can help schedule visits so they are spread out over the week or month. For general questions, please call Betsy Smith at (613) 257-7324.

Muriel also appreciates letters and cards (though she is not presently capable of responding). These may be sent directly to the hospital. Any correspondence of more than a purely personal nature may be sent to her care of her son, at:
